On 26 May 2018, the inaugural meeting and seminar of Shipping Law Research Association of Guangdong Province Law Society, Guangzhou Shipping Law Research Association, and Shipping Law Research Association of Guangzhou Law Society (three associations for short) was held in the international conference hall of the South China Normal University with great success. Yang & Lin hosted the meeting.

Yang & Lin was accepted as the vice-chair unit for the three associations. Director Yang Yunfu was the vice chair of the Shipping Law Research Association of Guangdong Province Law Society, Lin Cuizhu was the vice chair of the three associations, Zhuang Dongxiao and Wu Kai were the standing members of the three associations, and Yuan Jinsong, Duan Tingwu, Wei Mingzhong, Zhang Guoqing, Hou Guobin, Chen Tao, Hu Yongcheng, Liang Su, Zou Rong, Yang Zonghou, Zhang Wei and Wang Zongyi were the executive members of the three associations.

Mr. Yang presided over the maritime law seminar in the meeting. Chu Beiping, the leader of the research group on revising the Maritime Code and the dean of the School of Law of Dalian Maritime University, delivered a speech entitled “Background, Ideas and Keys of Revising Maritime Code”. Ni Xuewei, the director of the Guangzhou Maritime Court Research Office and the presiding judge of Judicial Supervision Division, addressed on “Hot Issues on Maritime Trial”. Feng Suijiang, standing member of the Political Consultative Conference of Nansha Gunagzhou, talked about “Building a Nansha Free Trade Port up to the Highest Standards”. After the speech, the three speakers joined interaction with enthusiastic audience on foreign laws, RMB internationalization and other issues.
